Introduction to factual investigations and interviewing, with emphasis on methods of investigation, role of pretrial discovery, examination of evidence, use of experts, obtaining public and private information, and ethical considerations associated with investigation. Providing supportive services for people is at the core of the Social and Human Services program. Classes prepare students to work in behavioral health services such as mental health, addictions or co-occurring illnesses, with families in school districts or their communities or with children and youth in schools or agencies. Classes are also listed under Family Support Studies (FSS).

Covers the history and importance of human services in society and the values these programs reflect. Includes career paths, knowledge, and skills required for effective practice, and the rewards and challenges of working in this field.
