MATH 077 - INTRODUCTORY ALGEBRA

Introduction to the concepts of algebra. Operations on signed numbers, solution of linear equations, exponents and algebraic fractions, basic operations on polynomials. Includes a review of some properties and operations of arithmetic. Intended for students who have had little or no algebra recently. Registration permitted first seven weeks (six in summer) as space is available. Prerequisite: MATH 040 or MATH 047 or equivalent with a grade of 2.0 or higher, or appropriate score on Math Placement Test.

Mathematics

New students must have their math skills assessed before they register for mathematics classes. To arrange for an assessment, visit Enrollment Services, first floor, Lynnwood Hall or call 425.640.1546. It is also critical that students take prerequisite classes prior to taking the more advanced classes. They will be dropped from classes if they do not demonstrate to their instructor by the third day of the quarter that they have satisfied the prerequisite(s). Students who have obtained a 2.0 or better in an advanced course, cannot then take a lower level math class without instructor permission.

For courses requiring a graphing calculator, instruction will be provided using the TI-83 or TI-84. If you already have another calculator, consult your instructor.

MATH 077 - INTRODUCTORY ALGEBRA

Introduction to the concepts of algebra. Operations on signed numbers, solution of linear equations, exponents and algebraic fractions, basic operations on polynomials. Includes a review of some properties and operations of arithmetic. Intended for students who have had little or no algebra recently. Registration permitted first seven weeks (six in summer) as space is available. Prerequisite: MATH 040 or MATH 047 or equivalent with a grade of 2.0 or higher, or appropriate score on Math Placement Test.
